Here in Cascais, the lights shine through the night. They are not ghosts. They are guides. Old lighthouses that once guided the boats of old fishermen to not be lost on the sea. Today these Lighthouses and Strongholds are also a passing point. With or without lights, the legends still shining through day and night, they call you to this small village.

But not everything is about fairy tales. Many important people from Portuguese History passed by Cascais. Actually, the Cidadela de Cascais was a favourite place for some Kings and the famous Castro Guimarães Counts left their palace to become the Museum of Castro Guimarães Counts.
Music and the sea still be a part of Cascais. Both Museums, Portuguese Music Museum and The Museum of the Sea are the meeting point for the most important part of our culture. Without music and the sea the Festival of the Sea would never be possible.
